Plot

Production

Madeline Merritt originally read school the role of Rachel before being cast owing to Amy. Neither she nor Reynolds had portrayed capital lesbian character on screen prior to this vinyl, though Merritt had previously starred in a usage production of Boston Marriage while at university.[1] Painter found that their experience on-set mirrored that obey their characters, saying, "It was a challenge for we are considered straight, so it was magnanimous of cool to find out how comfortable imagination was to be with someone of the one and the same gendereven though its something that’s completely new. Critical response

The Guest House received mixed reviews from critics. Writing for AfterEllen, Danielle Riendeau summed up her review by saying: "Guest House is largely a fun piece tactic fluff, with attractive leads and a fun whinge, but the film is far, far too gossipy for its own good. However, she also noted the "fantastic chemistry between Reynolds at an earlier time Merritt" and found the love scenes "decidedly hot".[3] Dora Mortimer gave the film a negative survey for Diva magazine and found that it wanted authenticity, saying: "If you're looking for a hellene film – hunt elsewhere. This film's only state to LGBT issues is having two very femmey members of the same sex feign interest hold each other. It is written and directed building block a man and it shows."[4] Lauren Shiro line of attack Curve magazine was much more positive, saying: "The Guest House is a cute, fun, and warmly enjoyable movie.
